July 1, 2010 Issue 2
Welcome to the star-studded second issue of Pig in a Poke. We got such a great response to the first issue, and thanks to all our readers for that. And, of course, thanks to all the great writers who made that response possible.
Trina and I are also finding out how much work goes into this—although as fiction editor and web designer, the bulk of that work is Trina's. It is a labor of love that will now be a quarterly production.
We have another strong lineup for you. Our featured poets are Hosho McCreesh, Christopher Cunningham and Justin Barrett, a talented trio who are attracting a lot of attention—and publication—in the poetry world. We have some other poets who are in Pig in a Poke for the first time but who have outstanding reputations, such as Karl Koweski and Scott Owens. We also have some repeaters from the first issue, including Louis McKee and Lyn Lifshin. And we have some poetic fresh blood in C.P. Stewart and others.
On the fiction side, Trina has picked a diverse and talented group of writers as well. There's something for everyone. I think that you'll agree that they're an impressive lineup.
