Fiction Issue 2
Welcome to the fiction section of the second issue of Pig in a Poke. I am blessed and honored to publish the work of the talented writers who have contributed. I have included more stories in this issue than the first because we have decided to publish quarterly instead of bimonthly.
Although each story is very different--we have nearly every genre of fiction represented--I think you will be impressed with the quality of writing. I am pleased to open the issue with the moving short shorts of Jane Banning and Justin Barrett.
The first and last stories are for anyone with a funny bone. Christamar Varicella takes us through a humorous critique of Jack Kerouac's work. And Jefferey Carl Jefferis finishes the issue with a story of Harlem through the eyes of a very politically incorrect gentleman from Idaho. In between you will find a diverse mixture of moving tales. Christina Hoag's "Lace and Nylon" is a heartfelt and powerful story about an immigrant dealing with daily life in California. "An Unidentified Man" is a gripping story about a man grieving the end of his marriage and a terrible mistake. And T.R. Healy cleverly uses the voice of a mime to capture our hearts in "A Quiet Man". Along with these, you'll find a ghost story, horror, and even murder for vengeance.
I am happy to be able to publish such quality fiction in the new Pig. Enjoy. I know I did.
