Fiction Issue 3
Welcome to the fiction section of the third issue of Pig in a Poke. I am most proud of this section of the magazine. We are presenting some excellent stories that I selected from among many superb submissions. I wish I had space to publish them all. What you will read here is the best of the best.
Not only is there new talent here — new to the Pig, that is — but for this issue we asked several writers to submit. I am featuring two powerful stories from the outstanding Christina Hoag. I think you will enjoy "The Track" in its gritty, urban realism and "The Newspaperman" for its poignancy.
Our friends Lynne Barrett and Mark Howell also appear. I enjoyed Laura Garrison's story, "The Color of Emotion" for its surprisingly surreal element and clever ending. "The Commuter" is also clever in its tale of a very small traveler. And add in a brilliant short slice of writing from Jane Banning and stories from Lawrence Klavan, Thomas Sullivan and Nathaniel Tower.
